Eastham Refinery

3rd April 2012

Tina Smith pulls on the break levers of her hybrid mountain bike to stop outside Eastham Refinery in Cheshire where her husband works. She has just started a 17 week training programme at the end of which she will embark on a 3 city, 4 day, 350 mile cycle odyssey taking in London, Amsterdam and Brussels.

Tina and 37 of her friends and colleagues have set themselves the challenge hoping to raise more than £70,000 for Kidney Research UK. One of the group taking on the epic tour of the low countries, Fran Wright, has had a transplanted kidney for an amazing 33 years thanks to the charity.

Tina's husband Andy Smith, the Engineering Manager at the landmark Eastham Refinery has been a long time customer of Centrol Recycling Group. We were happy to hear about her ride for life and our Business Support Manager joined Tina at the refinery to present her with a cheque for £250 to help her towards her fundraising.

Of course she would like to raise much more, so if you want to find out more about the 3 Cities Cycle Club charitable effort, Kidney Research UK, and how you can help, please visit www.kidneyresearchukevents.org/3cscyclingclub
